Recap: Pleasant Valley Raiders vs. Southeastern Mustangs
The Pleasant Valley Raiders''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 27-13 fall against Southeastern. Pleasant Valley lost against Southeastern in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 7-0 score last time.
Southeastern can attribute much of their success to Cole Williams, who rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 40 receiving yards. Jericho Pendleton did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 84 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Pleasant Valley's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-4. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Southeastern, Spring Garden, and Locust Fork. As for Southeastern, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pleasant Valley will take on Gaston at 0:00 a.m. on Friday. Gaston has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 25th. As for Southeastern, they will be playing at home against Pennington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pennington will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
