Baseball Recap: Leo Takes a Loss

Leo lost against IC Catholic Prep back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lions lost 14-4 to the Knights. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly ten runs.

Leo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Devin Vassel, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Vassel is becoming a predictor of the Lions' success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 5-14 when he doesn't). Aiden Lott was another, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.

This is the second loss in a row for Leo and nudges their season record down to 7-15. As for IC Catholic Prep, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 5-15.

While Leo had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
