Volleyball Recap: South Takes a Loss + How To Watch

South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Thunder Basin Bolts, falling 3-0. The Bison were not able to make up for their loss to the Bolts from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-20, 25-16.

South's offense was headlined by Katelynn Brennan and Carissa Lunsford, who picked up six kills apiece. Brennan also shared the team's lead in assists with Kirbie Hickox: they picked up seven each. Finally, Vanessa Gonzalez kept South's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Among those leading the charge was Reece McGrath, who had nine digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in August.

South's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Thunder Basin, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.

South wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Rock Springs on the 26th. As for Thunder Basin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Scottsbluff on the 26th.
