Volleyball Recap: Carson Starts Season with Win on the Road

Carson had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Hug Hawks on Tuesday. The Senators haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Carson was: they took every set by at least 15 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-10, 25-9.

Their offense was headlined by Abby Franco and Julie Salanoa, who picked up nine kills apiece. Salanoa really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 14. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Emma Sanders, racking up four apiece.

Hug dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Carson will challenge Reno at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hug, they will face off against Galena at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
