Volleyball Recap: Mesa Ridge Grizzlies vs. Palmer Terrors

Mesa Ridge lost against Palmer back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Grizzlies fell 3-1 to the Terrors.

While Mesa Ridge ultimately came up short, they really made Palmer work, particularly in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 19-25, 29-27, 25-13.

Savana Iverson paced Mesa Ridge's offense, picking up six kills. Iverson got some help from Lyric Hodges and her nine assists. Finally, Kayvianna Moore kept Mesa Ridge's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Hailey Tong was a one-woman wrecking crew For Palmer. as she had 25 digs and two aces. With that strong performance, Tong is now averaging an impressive 10.6 digs per game. Blythe Hatley also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

Mesa Ridge has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Palmer, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-5.
