Baseball Recap: Brookville's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Brookville barely beat Tecumseh the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Blue Devils were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Arrows on Saturday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Blue Devils as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Nathan Waggoner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Waggoner was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grayson Reynolds, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Brookville is undefeated when Reynolds posts two or more runs, but 1-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Willoughby, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Brookville's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Tecumseh, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Coming up, Brookville will be playing in front of their home fans against Franklin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Tecumseh, they will head out on the road to challenge Jonathan Alder at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
