Silsbee is 6-1 against Tarkington since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Matsyn Morris made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ryder Blythe, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Landen Lee, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Tarkington came up short against Bridge City on Monday and fell 6-3.

The win made it two in a row for Silsbee and bumps their season record up to 10-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Tarkington, they dropped their record down to 0-9-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
