The Colonial Christian Patriots lost against the Palm Glades Prep Academy Eagles back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Colonial Christian was dealt a 70-37 defeat at the hands of Palm Glades Prep Academy. Colonial Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-25.
Despite the loss, Colonial Christian saw an underclassman step up: Kevin Gomez scored 16 points. Gomez scored a full 43.2% of Colonial Christian's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Andre Garcia was another key contributor, scoring 4 points.
Palm Glades Prep Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anthony Delgado, who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Onday Rivera, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Colonial Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Palm Glades Prep Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colonial Christian will challenge Mater Academy Bay at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Palm Glades Prep Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against BridgePrep Village Green at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
