Baseball Recap: Sweet Home Huskies vs. Cascade Cougars
Sweet Home can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They blew past the Cascade Cougars 10-2. That eight run margin sets a new team best for Sweet Home this season.
Kayden Gutierrez and Kyle Zajic did most of the damage at the plate: Gutierrez scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Zajic scored three runs while going 2-for-4. Huston Holly was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Sweet Home's victory ended a 16-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-13. As for Cascade, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.
Sweet Home will look to defend their home field on Monday against Newport at 4:30 p.m. As for Cascade, they will head out on the road to square off against Stayton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
