Soccer Game Preview: Springfield vs. Triad

Springfield hasn't had much luck against Triad recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Senators will take on the Knights at 6:00 p.m. Springfield will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Springfield is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Pleasant Plains/New Berlin a 2-0 shutout. Give Springfield's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Kamryn Hoffman was the driving force of Springfield's attack as she scored both of Springfield's goals, bringing her season total up to 55 goals.

Meanwhile, Triad had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 7-0 win. Triad might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by three goals or more this season.

Triad's victory bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Springfield, their win bumped their record up to 24-1-1.

Springfield suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Triad in their previous meeting back in March of 2022. Can the Senators avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
