Ledford is a perfect 10-0 against Asheboro since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Ledford will look to defend their home field against Asheboro at 5:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Ledford's favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Asheboro has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

On Thursday, Ledford needed a bit of extra time to put away Northern Guilford. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Nighthawks, sneaking past 4-3.

Leah Leonard spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, Alana Herrera was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Grace Henry, who scored a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Asheboro fell victim to North Davidson and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 20-0 to the Black Knights.

Ledford's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Asheboro, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Asheboro's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Ledford has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Asheboro, though, as they've been averaging only 3 strikeouts. Will Ledford keep running through batters, or will Asheboro buck the trend?

Everything went Ledford's way against Asheboro in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Ledford made off with a 15-0 win. Will Ledford repeat their success, or does Asheboro has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
