Basketball Recap: Evangel Christian Academy Comes Up Short

On Saturday, the Evangel Christian Academy Eagles came up short against the Eads Eagles and fell 55-44.

Eads found their leader in sophomore Anna Wollert, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. Those 15 boards set a new season-high mark for Wollert. Another player making a difference was Tailee Weeks-Johnson, who went 7 of 11 on her way to 14 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Evangel Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Eads, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Evangel Christian Academy and Eads should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings. Evangel Christian Academy (ranked 72nd) will meet Hanover (ranked 305th) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Eads (ranked 68th) will meet Wiley (ranked 258th) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
