It was fun while it lasted, but Denham Springs's undefeated season came to an end after 17 games on Friday. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 71-59 defeat to the Vandebilt Catholic Terriers. The matchup marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Denham Springs lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jeremy Williams, who went 5 of 11 en route to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jermaine OConner, who posted ten points.

Even though they lost, Denham Springs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Having lost for the first time this season, Denham Springs fell to 17-1. As for Vandebilt Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-7.
