Softball Recap: Opelousas Catholic Takes a Loss

If Opelousas Catholic was feeling good fresh off their 7-0 takedown of St. Edmund last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings lost 16-5 to the St. Thomas More Cougars on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost five in a row.

Kale Lormand made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Emma Ludeau was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Opelousas Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for St. Thomas More, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Opelousas Catholic is taking a road trip to square off against Loreauville at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Thomas More, they will head out to challenge Southside at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
