Volleyball Recap: Oakwood Comets vs. Rantoul Eagles
Oakwood was the 2-1 winner over Rantoul when they last played one another back in October of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Oakwood Comets fell just short of the Rantoul Eagles by a score of 2-1 on Thursday.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Oakwood sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-22, 19-25, 25-17.
Kendyl Rogers paced Oakwood's offense, picking up 11 kills. Rogers got some help from
Quinn Sperry and her 22 assists. Rogers also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with
Mady Nicoson, racking up two apiece.
Oakwood's loss dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Rantoul, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-18.
