Softball Recap: Wells Comes Up Short

After flying high against Apple Springs two weeks ago, Wells came back down to earth. The Pirates lost 15-5 to the Alto Yellowjackets on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Yellowjackets: they've now lost seven in a row.

Wells' loss dropped their record down to 1-8-1. As for Alto, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wells will venture away from home to take on Neches at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.33 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Alto, they will head out to square off against New Summerfield at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
