Football Recap: Norwood Extends Winning Streak to Four + How To Watch

Norwood had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They blew past the Dolores Bears 46-25. That's more bragging rights for the Mavericks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Norwood's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Cole Bray and Daniel Zunich, who each picked up one interception apiece.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was River Wickstrom, who threw for 279 yards and four touchdowns. A healthy portion of that aerial production (106 yards to be exact) went to Michael Rantz, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Norwood's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Dolores, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Norwood will face off against Simla at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Mavericks will need to watch out since the Cubs have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. Dolores does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
