Softball Recap: Selma Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Selma lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Orange Cove, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. Everything went the Selma Bears' way against the Orange Cove Titans on Tuesday as the Selma Bears made off with a 12-2 victory. This was payback for the Bears, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Audreena Duron made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Duron was even better at the plate, scoring four runs while going 4-for-5.

In other batting news, Emma Galaviz was incredible, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrina Quintana, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Selma always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Orange Cove only posted an OBP of .318.

Selma's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Orange Cove, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Selma didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-4 victory against Tulare Western on the 7th. As for Orange Cove, they will look to defend their home field on March 11th against Reedley at 5:30 p.m.
