Football Game Preview: Simon Kenton Pioneers vs. Great Crossing Warhawks + Official Tickets

Simon Kenton is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. After each having a week off, they and the Great Crossing Warhawks will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Simon Kenton and Bryan Station, and Bryan Station kept the tradition alive. The Pioneers took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Defenders last Friday. Despite 179 more yards than the Defenders, the Pioneers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Simon Kenton's defeat came about despite a quality game from Grayson Harris, who picked up 111 receiving yards and one score. Landon Brown was another key player, rushing for 83 yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, Great Crossing was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Madison Central 50-22. While losing is never fun, the Warhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky football rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Indians are ranked 20th).

Great Crossing's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Simon Kenton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
