Game recap

While Colerain (Cincinnati, Ohio) didn't score more than 14 points in any quarter, it still managed to defeat Ryle (Union, Ky.) comfortably, 35-0, on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a rushing touchdown in the first quarter, the Cardinals led 21-0 at the half.

Colerain expanded its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS's lone score in the quarter came on a passing touchdown.

The Cincinnati school came into the game allowing 7.5 points per game. The result was expected, as the Cardinals had won the past two games the two teams played against each other. The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which the Raiders took, 37-0.

The loss comes after Ryle defeated Henry Clay 28-20 last week. Colerain's was coming off a 28-15 triumph over Pickerington Central the previous week. With the win CHS extended its winning streak to three games.

Ryle (1-3) goes up against St. Francis de Sales in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Colerain (3-0) locks horns with St. Xavier in a non-conference game.
