The Washington Patriots will square off against the Woodgrove Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Washington's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Woodgrove's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Woodgrove's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Washington hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Patriots' pitcher stepped up to hand Spring Mills a 6-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

Not much got past Chloe Constantino, who gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Spring Mills off the board. Constantino has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Washington let Addison Musser and Gabby Bibb run wild. Musser went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double, while Bibb went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Bibb is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Carly Constantino was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Woodgrove is ranked highly in their home state and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Jefferson. The Wolverines fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-1. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Wolverines couldn't push the score so high this time.
Virginia Dowell was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Abbey Davis was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and one run.
Washington has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Woodgrove, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
Washington might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Woodgrove in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Patriots have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
