Softball Recap: Hooks Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hooks can now relate to. They fell just short of the S & S Consolidated Rams by a score of 6-5 on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Rams this season, with their most recent loss being a 12-1 defeat on Friday.

Peyton Morgan was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She pitched 9.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off 15 hits. Morgan was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Zoey Greenwood was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Darla Jones, who earned one run and three stolen bases.

Hooks' loss dropped their record down to 26-10-1. As for S & S Consolidated, their win was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-1.

As of now, neither Hooks nor the Rams have any future games scheduled.
