Football Recap: Kennedy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Hinkley + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kennedy). Their defense stepped up to hand the Hinkley Thunder a 70-0 shutout on Saturday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Commanders considering their six-point performance the game before.

Matthew Salazar had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 86 yards and three scores. Those 86 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marcelis Allen, who threw for 114 yards and one TD while completing 71.4% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Kennedy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 222 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Kennedy, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Marcelo Nevarez, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

The victory got Kennedy back to even at 3-3. As for Hinkley, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.
