Football Game Preview: Stratford Elks vs. Childress Bobcats

The Stratford Elks will face off against the Childress Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Stratford's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.

On Friday, Stratford made easy work of Trinity Christian and carried off a 40-20 win. Considering the Elks have won three games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

It was another big night for Chase Lantelme, who threw for 128 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in one score on the ground. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making eight total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Darius Jones, who picked up 95 receiving yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Childress unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 52-27 to City View.

Stratford's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Childress, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Stratford was able to grind out a solid win over Childress in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 21-14. Do the Elks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bobcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
