Softball Recap: Bellbrook Gets the Win

While Bellbrook's victory against Brookville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Golden Eagles won by a run and slipped past the Blue Devils 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Golden Eagles have posted against the Blue Devils since April 29, 2019.

Lauren Nicholson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tori Markland, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Aleina Powell was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Bellbrook's record now sits at 7-8. As for Brookville, they moved to 7-9 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bellbrook will face off against Franklin at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brookville, they will challenge Waynesville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
