Volleyball Recap: Boonville Takes a Loss

Boonville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Evansville Memorial Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pioneers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Boonville started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-22, 25-14, 25-16.

Their offense was headlined by Jenna Luff and Taylor Johnson, who picked up 11 kills apiece. They got some help from Jaydin Dossett and her 14 assists. Finally, Addison Luff kept Boonville's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Boonville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Evansville Memorial, they moved to 2-5 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Boonville will take on Henryville in a tournament on Saturday. As for Evansville Memorial, they are taking a road trip to square off against North Posey at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
