Galena posted their closest win since February 7th on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 64-62 victory over the Pecatonica Indians. This was payback for the Pirates, who suffered a 73-54 loss the last time these two teams met.

Galena's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Pecatonica, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record.

Galena and South Beloit will compete for holiday cheer at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates will be up against the Sobos' rather soft defense (which has allowed 62.33 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Pecatonica will take on Eastland in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
