Soccer Recap: Westwood Comes Up Short

Westwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were one goals away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the New Diana Eagles. Even if the Panthers couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Westwood's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for New Diana, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westwood will challenge Alvarado at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday. Alvarado's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for New Diana, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Carlisle at 6:00 p.m. on January 20th.
