Softball Game Preview: Lena-Winslow Panthers vs. Milledgeville Missiles

The Lena-Winslow Panthers will take on the Milledgeville Missiles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Lena-Winslow needed a bit of extra time to put away Pearl City. They skirted past the Wolves 6-5.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Milledgeville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over Polo on Thursday. Considering the Missiles have won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Lena-Winslow is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.9 runs over those games. As for Milledgeville, their win bumped their record up to 13-8.

Lena-Winslow came out on top in a nail-biter against Milledgeville in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Missiles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
