Long Island Lutheran is ranked highly in their home state and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Hillcrest. The Long Island Lutheran Crusaders put the hurt on the Hillcrest Patriots with a sharp 66-40 victory. The Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season.

Long Island Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Hillcrest, the loss snapped their winning streak at 28 games and leaves them with a 28-1 record.

Long Island Lutheran won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Montverde Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Long Island Lutheran knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Montverde Academy likes a good challenge. As for Hillcrest, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Palm Bay at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Palm Bay will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Hillcrest surely won't give up without a fight.
