Softball Preview: Santo Wildcats vs. Ranger Bulldogs

The Santo Wildcats will challenge the Ranger Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Santo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

Santo made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Graford, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Rabbits with a sharp 13-4 victory on Friday. Maddie Koonce made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits. The team also got some help courtesy of Myranda Cain, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5.

Santo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Ranger was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Huckabay, falling 19-3. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly 16 runs.
