After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Northland Prep Academy brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They blew past the Red Rock Scorpions 18-8 on Monday. With that win, the Spartans brought their scoring average up to 8.4 runs per game.

Tyler Cary made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off six hits. Cary was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Dylan Stoffers was a standout: he scored a run and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He also put up two hits, which were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Colson Skersick, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3.

Northland Prep Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Camp Verde has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.09 runs per game on average), something Red Rock will no doubt try to take advantage of.
