Basketball Game Preview: Kalida Wildcats vs. Elida Bulldogs

The Kalida Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Elida Bulldogs at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Kalida will be strutting in after a win while Elida will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, Kalida was able to grind out a solid victory over Coldwater, taking the game 45-34. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Cavaliers: they've now won four in a row.

Addilyn Huber was nothing short of spectacular: she shot 56% from the field to rack up 24 points and five boards. Those 24 points gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nicole Siebeneck, who posted four points and eight steals.

Meanwhile, Elida was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 55-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Memorial.

Elida's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Kalida, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Kalida couldn't quite finish off Elida when the teams last played back in December of 2024 and fell 48-46. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
