Marquette had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.3 points) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Friday. They blew past the St. Francis Gladiators 82-50. Given the Redmen's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Gladiators are ranked 343rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marquette pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for St. Francis, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Looking ahead, Marquette and Cass Tech will face off at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for St. Francis, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hamtramck at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
