Football Recap: Hermitage Piles Up the Points Against Henrico

Hermitage won the last time they faced Henrico and things went their way on Friday too. The Panthers blew past the Warriors 62-13. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Warriors are ranked 166th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Breon Bonner had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 142 yards and one touchdown on only six carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Myles Brooks, who threw for 84 yards and three TDs.

Hermitage didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Khalil Atkinson and Tison Brooks. Atkinson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Hermitage has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 13 points this season. As for Henrico, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Hermitage and Henrico will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Panthers see the field they'll take on Varina at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Henrico, their break will end when they face Churchland at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th.
