Soccer Game Preview: Sotomayor vs. Warren

Sotomayor is 0-4 against Warren since February of 2023 but things could change on Wednesday. The Sotomayor WILDCATS will welcome the Warren Warriors at 7:00 p.m.

Sotomayor fell victim to Taft and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders.

Meanwhile, Warren came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.3 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Raiders. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Raiders are ranked 626th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Osmar Gonzalez Cervantes was the driving force of Warren's attack as he scored both of Warren's goals, bringing his season total up to four goals.

Warren pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three games. As for Sotomayor, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
