Softball Recap: Pelham Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Pelham won the last time they faced Mountain Brook and things went their way on Monday too. The Panthers blew past the Spartans 9-2.

Ryann Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on ten hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jordan Young, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Eva Lee also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Pelham's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-13. As for Mountain Brook, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-21.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pelham will head out to take on Chelsea at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mountain Brook, they are taking a road trip to challenge Hoover at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
