Basketball Recap: Le Grand Takes a Loss

Le Grand's game on Monday was all tied up 17-17 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell to the Waterford Wildcats 43-37. The loss leaves the Bulldogs without a win on the season.

Waterford's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Christian Gayle, who posted 14 points. Gayle continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Martinez, who earned nine points.

Le Grand's defeat dropped their record down to 0-20. As for Waterford, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-15.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Le Grand has already played their next contest (against Mariposa County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Waterford will be playing in front of their home fans against Gustine at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gustine has insisted on making their lastseven contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 0-7 during that stretch of close contests.
