Basketball Recap: Lamar Schwartz Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Rooted School

Union's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Rooted School Royals by a score of 51-38.

Union's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lamar Schwartz, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most boards Schwartz has posted since back in December of 2023. Zyler Ogden was another key player, going 7 of 15 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds.

Union smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Union's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Rooted School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Union will take on Union City in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Union is facing Union City at the right time seeing as Union City is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Rooted School, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on GEO Next Generation at 7:30 p.m. on January 14, 2025.
