Taryn Gilbert made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Taylor Stefancic was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Molly Southall, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Wilmington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lisle only managed four hits.
Wilmington's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Lisle, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
