Baseball Recap: Jim Ned Comes Up Short

Jim Ned blew Sweetwater out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Sweetwater got their revenge. Jim Ned fell just short of Sweetwater by a score of 8-6. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Colby Clinkscales made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February.

Jim Ned's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-3. As for Sweetwater, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-9.

While Jim Ned had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
