Baseball Recap: Ridgemont Comes Up Short

Ridgemont made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Waynesfield-Goshen, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Golden Gophers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, the Golden Gophers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Ridgemont saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kody Kiser, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Ridgemont's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Waynesfield-Goshen, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ridgemont will take on Crestline at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: the Golden Gophers have lost four straight at home , while the Bulldogs have lost eight on the road. As for Waynesfield-Goshen, they will challenge Temple Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pioneers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.38 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
