Baseball Preview: Narragansett Mariners vs. Ponaganset Chieftains        
        
		
            
 The Narragansett Mariners will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ponaganset Chieftains on Wednesday. Narragansett will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak  dating back to last season alive.
 Things were looking good for Narragansett after they put the first points on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Tiverton by a score of  3-2.
  Zayden Kent was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  tossed six innings while giving up  three earned runs off   three  hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  pitched less than five  innings in three consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side, Narragansett saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Jackson Hohl, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 1-for-3.  Zachary Previte was another key contributor,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Ponaganset had to endure  a  four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  5-4  victory over Middletown  on Monday.
 Narragansett now  has a losing record at 3-4. As for Ponaganset, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
 Narragansett skirted past Ponaganset  2-0 in their previous matchup  back in April of 2023. Will Narragansett repeat their success,  or does  Ponaganset have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
