Jayci Wilson posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Saturday. As a matter of fact, she turned in her biggest game of the season, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

Coming up, Wilson and Shepherd will square off against Rusk at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will enter the matchup having just beaten Bridge City, so the Pirates will have to guard against a team looking to keep the ball rolling.
