Basketball Recap: Palo Verde Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Palo Verde won the last time they faced Green Valley and things went their way on Friday too. The Palo Verde Panthers took down the Green Valley Gators 60-46. The 60-point effort marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Defeat or not, Green Valley got some senior leadership from Deymien Tunis and Da?Quan Brown. Tunis posted 17 points, while Brown put up 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tunis has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lamarcus Carter, who earned six points.

Palo Verde pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Green Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palo Verde will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Cimarron-Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. One thing working in Cimarron-Memorial's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Green Valley and American Heritage Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 3:30 a.m. on Friday.
