The Triton Trojans will face off against the Argos Dragons at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with eight defeats in a row, Triton turned things around against Elkhart Christian Academy on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Eagles 9-8.
The team relied heavily on Lexi Kaufman, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jada Bules, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Triton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elkhart Christian Academy struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Argos walked away with it. They walked away with a 15-12 win over the Eagles on Monday. The Dragons' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.
Ella Dean spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and seven unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up eight Ks. As a matter of fact, that's the most runs she has scored all season.
At the plate, Grace Thomas was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025. Maddie Overmeyer was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs and one RBI.
Triton's victory bumped their record up to 4-16. As for Argos, their win bumped their record up to 3-19.
Triton beat Argos 12-9 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
