Basketball Preview: Southwestern Heights Mustangs vs. Sublette Larks
Southwestern Heights is 9-1 against the Larks since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Southwestern Heights Mustangs will be playing at home against the Sublette Larks at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Tuesday, Southwestern Heights was the victim of a rough 52-28 loss at the hands of the Broncs. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Southwestern Heights has scored all season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Layla Pearl kisner, who scored 12 points along with two steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Emma Stanfield was another key contributor, scoring three points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Sublette, who are still winless after their 14th contest. They took a serious blow against Cimarron on Tuesday, falling 53-16.
Southwestern Heights' loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6. As for Sublette, their loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-14.
Everything came up roses for Southwestern Heights against the Larks in their previous matchup last Friday as the team secured a 55-20 victory. Will Southwestern Heights repeat their success, or do the Larks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
