Naples waltzed into their match on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Avoca Central Tigers by a score of 5-1. Five seems to be a good number for the Big Green Machines as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Hunter Jacoby spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Naples is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-3 otherwise.

At the plate, Naples saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grady Grove, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Ollie Bruen was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Naples now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Avoca Central, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Naples will host Honeoye at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Avoca Central, they will welcome Campbell-Savona at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
