Wakulla extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 5-2. They strolled past the Godby Cougars with points to spare, taking the game 38-21. This was payback for the War Eagles, who suffered a 27-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

Wakulla's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen Klees, who threw for 171 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 81 yards on only 11 carries. Klees is becoming a predictor of the War Eagles' success: when he posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Another rusher making a difference was Jeremiah Washington, who rushed for 165 yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Wakulla proved: they limited Godby to a paltry 2.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Andrew Nelson for the heroic effort on defense: he. Wakulla didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.2.

Wakulla didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Antonio Harvey and Lacari Murray. Harvey got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

As for Godby, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly 17 points.

Despite the loss, Godby still got an impressive performance from Jamarin Simmons, who picked up 166 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wakulla will venture away from home to face off against South Walton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Godby, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
