Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jacksonville). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the New Bern Bears 67-34. The win continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won three in a row.

It was another big night for Amari Pearson, who rushed for 331 yards and five scores while picking up 20.7 yards per carry. Those five rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Jacksonville also got a significant boost from Amaree Betton, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 145 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Jacksonville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 600 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 186 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

New Bern lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Terrance McCormick, who rushed for 108 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 194 yards and a pair of TDs. Karvin Magwood was another key back, gaining 81 total yards and three touchdowns.

Jacksonville's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for New Bern, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Jacksonville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 35-21 win against J.H. Rose on the 10th. As for New Bern, they have also already played their next contest, a 46-20 victory against White Oak on the 10th.
